Practice, practice, practice.

This is the only thing I can do now that I'm entering the world of voice acting. And it's quite fun! I'm still more quieter than I like when working, but I know that's just a confidence thing, mainly. Also, I want to be as courteous to my nieghbors as possible... Though I suppose I can only do so much of that. I just need to get some sound proof paneling for my walls!

I mentioned in my little website update thingy, but I also got a really good mic (and mic stand)! The mic I got is a Shure MV7X! It's both a USB and XLR, meaning that it can connect to the computer via a USB cable as well as to a audio box, which then connects to the computer. It's really cool. I went into the store knowing I needed a condeser mic that's not USB. I went in, told the guy what I wanted and my budget, and helped me pick one out I really liked. Now, after talking to him and explaining the type of environment I'll be recording in, he actually explained that a dynamic would be better for me. Condenser mics are extremely sensative, and are typically only used in really solid home set ups and studios. Dynamic mics aren't as sensative, but it works out great for me. Also, apparently, the difference between using an audio interface and a usb mic is that slight delay in your voice as your recording. But, the guy at the store assured me that with the right budget and the most recently technology, there's not much of a feedback. That guy knew what he was talking about! My mic works really well, and it only took an arm and a leg.

It was worth it, though. I wanted to go all in on a good mic because I'm serious about this, and I didn't want to spend more money in the long run slowly upgrading my mic. This is also helped with my confidence! To hear my voice and not have gender dysphoria over it? Incredible. And hearing how many things I can play around with with my new voice? It's awesome. I didn't realize there was so many factors go into how one person speaks. And not even just what to do with your voice - your stance, the way you position your mouth, all of it affects your voice. And that is so freakin' cool.

The main thing I need to focus on right now, I think, is getting more emotion into my voice. I've already gotten some feedback on my performance, and while there's many things to improve on, I think working on conveying emotion better is the most important thing, because I need to do that regardless of any voice that I do. We can talk about higher or lower pitch, or different cadences, but if I can't get the emotion right, they're all duds. This is really going to be a big challenge, and one that I'm up for!

Okay, confession, its taken me days to write this particular post. Basically I signed up for the class. I found a forumn where people ask for voice actors for their projects. I've already auditioned for four! Not that I'm expecting to get any roles just yet, but at least I'm practicing!

Alright, I will post this now, lmaoooo.
